Thanksgiving Meals for Senior

Thanksgiving Meals for Senior Citizens

Location: The Cooperage Project
Time: Nov 16, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM

The Cooperage Project, a nonprofit community hub located on Main Street Honesdale, is pleased to offer free, ready-to-heat Thanksgiving meals for senior residents of Wayne County. This is made possible through grant support, coordinating help from Wayne County Area Agency on Aging, and food preparation assistance from Camp IHC.

We understand that it will be difficult to gather in person this year and so we would like to help make the Thanksgiving holiday a bit brighter by offering this meal service to senior citizens so that they can enjoy some of the traditional holiday food from the comfort of their residence, all without having to cook!

Meals will be individually packaged, pre-cooked, and frozen. You will simply have to reheat and instructions will be provided. We are working with local farms and producers in hopes that nearly everything on your plate will be sourced locally and made fresh!

Please note, this meal service is only offered to seniors age 65+.

Each meal will include a main dish (choice of turkey or a vegetarian/vegan option), three sides TBD, a dinner roll, and a sweet treat. Please make sure you list any allergies or dietary restrictions below so we can do our best to accommodate.

Please fill out the following form below to register. You must register by Friday, October 23.

Meals will be available for pick-up from The Cooperage Project (1030 Main Street, Honesdale) on Monday, November 16 from 1pm-6pm.

We are asking that only folks who are homebound and/or do not have means of transportation to request delivery options. Please, if you are able to pick up your meals, we kindly ask that you do so. Also, you may have someone else (a relative or friend) pick up your meal for you. If you would like someone to pick up your meal on your behalf, information will be required.

If delivery is needed: we will deliver during the same timeframe above, unless otherwise coordinated with The Cooperage Project staff. With further questions regarding this issue, please immediately email info@thecooperageproject.org or call 570-253-2020.
