Basics of Cheesemaking on the Homestead
Location: Starlight, PA
Time: Oct 10, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM
Have you ever wanted to learn to make cheese but don’t know where to start? Come to the homestead in October and learn the basics of cheesemaking. All you need is one gallon of good milk and you will be able to make some basic cheeses. This class will walk you through the basic cheesemaking process, what supplies you need, and a fun way to get started. Not only will you learn about cheese, but you will get to make three different kinds-buttermilk, ricotta, and mozzarella.
rice is $50 and includes catered lunch, beverages, and supplies. Each participant will leave with a sampling of buttermilk, ricotta, and mozzarella and the skills to make cheese at home. Need lodging? Let me know. There are special rates on the homestead.
The workshop will be approximately 3 hours.
