"Little Big Band" Returns
Location: Honesdale Central Park
Time: Jun 24, 2021@7:30 PM
Familiar big-band classics like “In the Mood,” “Take the A Train,” and “Satin Doll” will share the bill with swing versions of more modern tunes from the band’s varied repertoire, including songs from favorites like Chicago, Santana, and Paul Simon.
The band is well-known in NEPA for its frequent appearances at such venues as the Cooperage in Honesdale, the Waterwheel Cafe in Milford, and Silver Birches in Hawley. Band leader Bruce Dedrick, a veteran musician, singer, composer, and arranger, serves as MC, lead singer, trombonist and guitarist. Other band members include Vic Merrill (trumpet) and Tim Donlin (sax), and the rhythm section features Susan Hurwitz, Tom Federowicz, and Mike Stebela.
You can learn more about the Little Big Band Group at their website, www.thelittlebigbandgroup.com, or on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TheLittleBigBandGroup
CDC guidelines will be followed with masks required and spacing of family groups in the Park. All concerts (other than the Independence Day Celebration) will begin at 7:30 PM. In case of inclement weather, concerts may be moved to other locations. There is no admission charge to the Summer Festival events, but free-will donations are gratefully accepted. Refreshments will be available for purchase from Tubby’s Food Truck, but attendees can also bring their own food. (No alcohol or smoking, please.) Bring a blanket or chair for seating. In case of inclement weather, the concert will take place at The Cooperage. For more information, contact Project Manager Mitzi Kielar at 570-785-3674, or find WCCAC online via Facebook or at www.honesdaleparkevents.org.
