Honesdale Night at the Races
Location: Beach Lake Fire Hall
Time: May 27, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
And they’re off! If you love horse racing, Honesdale Rotary invites you to its Night at the Races on Friday, May 27th at the Beach Lake Fire Hall. A $15 admission fee per person entitles you to a horse plus free snacks and beer—all you can consume. Name your horse and watch it compete. If your horse wins, you win $50. Additional horses cost $10 and bets are available throughout the night for $2 each.
“This is a really fun night,” says Maureen Beilman, committee chair, “People get very excited about their horses, standing up and rooting for them all night. It’s a highly-charged atmosphere of good-natured competition. Come one, come all! And support a good cause at the same time.”
The cash-only event will also include an instant bingo game and a 50/50 raffle. Attendees must be 21 to participate and an ID will be required to enter.
Proceeds support Honesdale Rotary projects locally and internationally. Recent efforts including building batting cages for the Honesdale Little Baseball Association and providing art supplies for Treasure House. Honesdale Rotary has also helped the International Rotary Foundation’s global Polio Eradication Program.
The club meets every Tuesday at 12 noon at Cordaro’s Restaurant in Honesdale. All are invited. For tickets to Night at the Races, call Andy 570-470-9042 or Maureen 570-253-8744. Tickets also available at the door.
