FolkZINGER Christine Lavin w/special guest Tina Ross

Location: The Cooperage Project
Time: Dec 10, 2022@6:30 PM

Christine Lavin returns to RiverVibes at The Cooperage in Honesdale on Saturday, Dec. 10 for a 7:30 concert and a 6:30 knitting circle!  Opening for Lavin will be Tina Ross, promoting her debut album “While I’m Here”, due out February 17, 2023 (but copies will be available!) And... stick around for a Meet & Greet after the show.

Lavin’s latest solo album, her 25th, On My Way to Hooterville includes 10 new songs and one re-worked song, “Ramblin’ Waltz,” a re-telling of her time in 1975 when she was an entourage driver for the first week of Bob Dylan’s iconic “Rolling Thunder Revue” tour. She is currently working on her 26th solo album.

Christine Lavin has been called “A fearless folkZinger!” by the Orlando Sentinel, “Wildly entertaining,” by The New Yorker, and “A fresh kick in the pants!” by the late Paul Newman. The Village Voice says of Lavin “It is precisely her take on the ordinary that makes her work so extraordinary.”

Tina Ross combines her soaring, intimate voice and sonic-scaped guitar playing with songs that resemble the white space of a timeless painting. Here she probes the indispensable space between yin and yang, light and dark. That space creates shapes, allowing everything to exist, and nothing happens without it. Her vocal delivery brims with the clarity and conviction of a stage actor, while her finely crafted acoustic guitar work has an understated and uncluttered quality that moves through her songs like wind brushing over a meadow. There is no hurry in her music, but make no mistake, it’s not laid back.

Tickets available at thecooperageproject.org/performances. The Cooperage is located at 1030 Main St., Honesdale, PA.  For more information, please email rivervibes@thecooperageproject.org.
