Downtown Hawley Partnership to Celebrate 10 Years at Annual Meeting

Location: Great Hall of the Hawley Methodist Church
Time: Apr 25, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

(Hawley, PA) The Downtown Hawley Partnership has announced plans to celebrate the organization’s tenth annual meeting to be held on Wednesday evening, April 25th, 2018, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The location will once again be the Great Hall of the Hawley United Methodist Church. The 6 o’clock gathering time will be followed by a buffet dinner as well as an annual-report style presentation of the DHP’s accomplishments throughout the past year, and plans for 2018-19. Terri Dennison, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Route 6 Alliance will speak about various initiatives that impact communities along the Route 6 Heritage Corridor. Through partnerships (regional, businesses, communities, etc.) as well as grass-roots planning, historic, cultural, natural, scenic, and recreation resources are preserved and developed to strengthen regional economies. Among the goals of these programs are increased tourism, new jobs creation, and the development of investment opportunities. Hawley is one of only twenty designated Heritage Communities across the Route 6 Corridor. A highlight of the evening will also include the presentation of the 10th annual “Outstanding Contributions to the Community” recognition in three categories – by a for-profit, a non-profit, and an individual. An accredited land trust, the Delaware Highlands Conservancy will be this year’s honoree in the non-profit category. Headquartered in Hawley with a second office in Kauneonga Lake, New York, the DHC is dedicated to protecting and sustaining the rural quality of life in the upper Delaware region by focusing on its people, preserving healthy land and water, and maintaining strong local economies in a variety of ways and through numerous successful programs. The 2018 recipient in the for-profit category is Clemleddy Construction, with over 20 years serving the Hawley - Lake Region with superior construction and building services using “green building” methods. The “Clemleddy Crew” is also known in the area as active volunteer participants in a variety of community projects, stepping up to take the lead when called upon, and often working cooperatively with other like minded organizations on projects to benefit the greater good. Last but most certainly not least, as has been the tradition for the presentation of the Outstanding Contribution by an Individual Award, the recipient will not be formally announced until the evening of the awards ceremony, and is a much-anticipated part of the evening’s celebration. The annual meeting/mixer is geared to members as well as non-members alike and residents or visitors are welcome. The evening celebration is sponsored in part by Bold Gold Media and Sculpted Iceworks. Seating is limited and the cost for the evening is $36 per person. Please RSVP to info@visithawleypa.com or call 570-226-4064 for reservations or more information.
